Provincial Funding Helps Hospice Quinte Support Seniors with Advance Care Planning

Hospice Quinte is hosting a series of Advance Care Planning seminars for adults 55 and older thanks to $24,000 in funding received from Ontario’s ‘Seniors Community Grant’ program. An Advance Care Plan (ACP) is a way for people to express what they wish to take place should they become incapable of consenting to or refusing treatment, or personal care. This includes deciding who will make decisions on one’s behalf should that happen.

Eastern Ontario Caregiver Expo

This event is a trade show where local healthcare organizations, businesses, social service providers and other caregiver-related entities will gather to showcase their products and services. The public will learn about diverse programs available to assist them and their families with respect to “Caregiving” for people of all ages, all walks of life and under a variety of circumstances.

Hospice Quinte has received a crowning commitment of $30,000 over the next 10-years thanks to a local family-owned corporation. Crown Ridge Health Care Services announced the pledge of a $3,000 gift annually, over a decade, during a special cheque presentation at Hospice Quinte’s Stan Klemencic Care Centre yesterday. The funding supports The Comfort of Home Campaign, a $500K fundraising effort to assist Hospice Quinte with operational costs, including its renowned six bed hospice care residence that opened last year.

Over $25K Harvesting for Hospice Quinte

Last weekend, the Harvesting Hope for Hospice Quinte Charity Car Rally and Artisan Market, presented by Tara Lyons Royal Lepage Proliance, raised over $25,700 in support of local hospice palliative care services.
