Hospice Quinte is hiring a Community Hospice Coordinator for a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal. Start date will be in May 2022. The hourly wage is $23-26 per hour, depending on skills and experience. In lieu of benefits and pension, salary will be boosted by 10%. Vacation entitlement is 3 weeks. COVID-19 vaccination status will need to be disclosed. Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required. The position is based at the Stan Klemencic Care Centre at 1244 Old Highway 2 in Belleville. 35-hour work week with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, for which time off in lieu will be given with the approval of the supervisor.
Under the direction of the Community Hospice Supervisor, the Community Hospice Coordinator recruits, trains, and oversees volunteers, along with providing services for community hospice clients, caregivers, and the bereaved. The role of the Coordinator is to arrange day to day functioning of programs, to collaboratively work with other Hospice Quinte staff, and community partners. The Community Hospice Coordinator develops, implements, and delivers community workshops, seminars, and education days on topics such as Hospice Quinte, hospice and palliative care, bereavement, grief, caregiver, and end of life issues. This position requires a sound knowledge of issues related to palliative care and sensitivity to clients and caregivers requiring the services of the agency. The Community Hospice Coordinator needs to have excellent communication, presentation, organizational skills, able to maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
