Hospice Quinte Seeking Volunteers

Most recent cohort to successfully complete Hospice Quinte’s volunteer training program (January 5, 2023)

Hospice Quinte is seeking individuals interested in volunteering with the organization. Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of roles including hospice client support, front desk greeters, food preparation and fundraising.

Hospice Quinte Executive Director, Jennifer May-Anderson, says “Volunteers are the heart of Hospice Quinte, and there’s no question that the important work we do for this community is made possible in large part thanks to our caring, talented and highly valued volunteers.”

Hospice Quinte volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and are required to complete a screening and comprehensive training process. The deadline to apply in time for Hospice Quinte’s next round of volunteer training is January 25th.

“Our hospice volunteers come from all walks of life, age, ethnicity, faith, gender, sexual orientation, and professional backgrounds,” adds May-Anderson. “They unselfishly give of their time and talent to help others, and the difference they make is infinitely rewarding.”

Hospice Quinte provides individuals, their families, and caregivers with compassionate end of life care, by attending to their physical, psychosocial, and practical needs, and offering empathetic care to those who are grieving through visiting hospice services and support groups.  All Hospice Quinte programs and services are provided by compassionate, well-trained volunteers and staff at no charge to the individual or their family.

Hospice Quinte serves a population of over 110,000 in Quinte West, Belleville, Deseronto, Tyendinaga Township and the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. To find out more visit HospiceQuinte.ca.
