The John M. & Bernice Parrott Foundation has given the ‘gift of compassion and care’ again this holiday season thanks to its most recent contribution to Hospice Quinte and its Heart & Home Building Campaign. The Foundation presented Hospice Quinte with an incredible $215K donation, with $200K of that being designated to the organization’s capital campaign in support of the future Hospice Quinte Care Centre, and the remaining $15K earmarked to help with general operations.

“The remarkable support we have received from The Parrott Foundation reminds us what the ‘Season of Giving’ is all about,” says Hospice Quinte Executive Director, Jennifer May-Anderson. “This generous donation brings us closer to our $9.5M capital campaign goal and also helps our organization off-set general funding losses experienced this year as a result of the pandemic.”

“Traditional funding sources such as our annual Gala event, corporate grants and memorial donations have been impacted by the fallout of COVID-19,” adds May-Anderson. “Making this significant and thoughtful gift by The Parrott Foundation all the more appreciated.”

This is the second contribution The Parrott Foundation has made to Hospice Quinte’s Heart & Home Building Campaign. The first, a $250K donation, was made in the early days of the campaign, in December 2018, for a total contribution to date of $465K.

The new, 6-bed Hospice Quinte Care Centre located on Old Highway 2 across from Bayside Secondary School will be a safe, comfortable, quiet, and welcoming place that feels as close to home as possible. Professional palliative care will be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and at no cost to the family.
