The John M. & Bernice Parrott Foundation has been honoured with a significant naming opportunity at the future Hospice Quinte Care Centre following a gift this spring of $35K to Hospice Quinte’s Heart & Home Building Campaign. In December 2018, the Foundation gifted Hospice Quinte a $250K donation, followed by an additional gift of $215K in the Fall of 2020. These past gifts, combined with this latest contribution, amount to $500K in total and will see the largest wing at the new centre named after the well-known, local philanthropic foundation.
“We are extremely grateful to receive this additional support from The Parrott Foundation,” says Hospice Quinte Executive Director, Jennifer May-Anderson. “In recognition of this generosity, we are excited to share that our resident wing at the new centre will here on be known as the John M. & Bernice Parrott Hospice Care Wing.”
The John M. & Bernice Parrott Hospice Care Wing is considered to be the ‘heart’ of the new facility. It will house 6 private residents’ suites, 2 of the centre’s 3 lovely sunrooms, a nursing station, a medical room, a client consultation room, and more.
Construction of the future Hospice Quinte Care Centre, located on Old Highway 2 across from Bayside Secondary School, is well underway with opening slated for this coming fall. The Hospice Quinte Care Centre will be a safe, comfortable, quiet, and welcoming place that feels as close to home as possible. Professional palliative care will be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and at no cost to the family.
