National Grief and Bereavement Day: Meet Linda Henderson

Hospice Quinte is honored to host a special event in recognition of National Grief and Bereavement Day.

We are pleased to welcome Linda Henderson as our special guest. Linda will share her deeply personal journey of loss, grief, healing, and finding renewed purpose following the tragic and unexpected death of her daughter.

Meet Our Guest Author: Linda Henderson

Linda Henderson is an author, speaker, and grief educator whose work is rooted in love, loss, resilience, and hope.

After the devastating loss of her daughter, Andrea, Linda found herself navigating a life she could never have imagined. Her personal journey through profound grief, learning to live with the reality of loss, became the foundation for her desire to help others who are walking their own difficult paths.

A retired nurse with 37 years of experience, Linda has complemented her professional background with specialized education in Professional Grief and Bereavement, Coping with Child Loss, and Grief and Bereavement Counselling. She brings professional knowledge and lived experience to her work, creating a compassionate space where grief is acknowledged without judgment and hope can gradually return.

Linda is the author of The Road of Love & Hope: The Journey of Child Loss.

Through her writing and speaking, Linda reminds us that grief is not something we “get over.” It is a journey that changes us, and there is no timeline. Her message is one of compassion, understanding, and hope—encouraging people to acknowledge their pain while carrying what matters forward.

Love is never lost, and hope is always there.

Community Panel Discussion

Following Linda’s presentation, join us for a meaningful panel discussion featuring a variety of perspectives on grief—including the experiences of caregivers, anticipatory grief when living with a life-limiting illness, and grief at the end of life.

Our panel will include:
A caregiver
An individual living with a life-limiting illness
A hospice volunteer
An individual who has experienced the loss of a loved one
A hospice nurse
Hospice Quinte Bereavement Coordinator

This special event will provide an opportunity to listen, learn, share, and connect as we recognize the many ways grief touches our lives and communities.

National Grief and Bereavement Day is a special event, open to the public by registration.
All Hospice Quinte programs and services are provided at no charge by compassionate and well-trained staff and volunteers.
